The hours of darkness often conjure notions of fear and vulnerability, associated with ideas of voyeurism, sex and substance abuse. Making use of the nighttime urban environment, William has created a series of images that reveal an interpretable narrative. The work allows the viewers’ mind to digress, whilst simultaneously insinuating an explicit and sinister overtone. The photographs in this portrayal make use of a gritty black and white aesthetic, high in contrast and grain. This stylisation aspires to encompass the essence of the content.
