Ellie's work is an investigation into the modern uses of taxidermy as interior art decor. She combines images of found dead butterflies with images of man-made and altered landscapes. Ellie wants her work to show that although taxidermy is seen today as contemporary art and is often found in up-market houses and apartments. It’s still evidence of man’s influence on the landscape but there is no reason that this can’t be viewed as beautiful. It’s the beauty of Decay.
