Jasmin Watts has created a series of portraits of which are strangers to herself. Watts’s work evolves around the idea of how people stereotype and judge others from how they represent themselves through their appearance. Watts produces deadpan portraits making the viewer interpret the image through smaller details in the appearance of the model. By using strangers to herself, Watts looks at the portraits on the same level as the viewers, only presuming what the models personality, identity and lifestyle is like. However not to loose complete control over how the image is perceived, Watts titles the images with information about the model, forcing the viewer to judge the model possibly in a different way compared to what they may have originally thought.
