Watson's work focuses on harnessing the dynamism, energy and power of modern life. Taking inspiration from futurism, cubism and expressionism paintings, her work revolves around capturing the repetition, angles, curves and drama of seemingly banal architecture. Working with both photographic film and digital techniques, she uses the hypnotism of multiple exposures to create layers upon layers of information all on one single frame. Watson uses an ambitious combination of intense, vibrant colours and repetitive architectural forms in her exploration of the city. Her photographs play with the concept of time and movement, leading the city into the future in a bid to emulate the chaotic blur of every day life in the 21st century.
