Franklin works within a very personal area, looking into childhood and adolescense as a way of producing work. She is currently exploring a particular childhood memory centered around a fascination with water and has chosen to portray this through self portrait, both through still and moving image.

Other work Franklin has made has been encountered through understanding of personal memories and the idea of false memory and identity, along with a constant look at concepts of the moving image.
