Jade explores gender roles and appearance by creating a series of portraits where both the male and female are disrupting gender norms by switching outfits. The majority of people are trapped in the confines of their gender roles due to social pressures. However, Jade’s aim is to send out a message that there is now a cross-over in fashion trends of today and it should be seen as normal for people to follow this, even if it’s not what one would usually expect. Jade has shown this through a variety of identities, who differ in age, style and seem proud and confident within themselves.
